Moldova is a small-scale economy located in Eastern Europe with a nominal GDP of around $20 billion in 2023. Notable points include the low energy self-sufficiency rate, which is the root of Moldova's economic vulnerability. High dependence on natural gas from Russia directly relates to geopolitical risk.
