Global Supply Chain Pressure Index is a composite indicator of supply-chain stress. Higher readings mean shipping costs, delivery times or logistics bottlenecks are becoming more restrictive.

When it rises, goods prices, inventories and input costs often come under pressure, which can later feed into broader inflation measures.

It is most useful when paired with oil, PPI, core inflation and manufacturing surveys to judge whether supply stress is spilling into prices.
