OECD Merchandise Imports (USD)

OECD import value is an indicator that shows the total amount of goods imported from overseas by OECD member countries. A larger value indicates that the country has a larger economic scale and higher dependence on international trade. The top rankings are occupied by major economies such as the United States and Germany, with large populations and domestic demand, or active procurement of raw materials for manufacturing. Additionally, island nations and resource-poor countries tend to have higher import values. Conversely, lower-ranked countries tend to have smaller economic scales or higher economic self-sufficiency rates. This indicator reveals each country's economic scale and position in international trade.
