Curaçao is an autonomous territory of the Netherlands located in the Caribbean, classified as a high-income small island economy. With a population of approximately 150,000, this island nation's economy is supported by diverse industries.

The main industries of the economy are tourism, financial services, petroleum refining, and trade and distribution. Tourism in particular is an important source of foreign exchange, with approximately 500,000 tourists visiting annually. The white-sand beaches and historical architecture of Willemstad are the main tourist attractions. The financial services industry is also well-developed, serving as a tax haven.
