OECD Composite Leading Indicator Ranking
OECD Composite Leading Indicator (Index)
The OECD Leading Economic Index is an indicator designed to forecast economic developments in member countries over the next 3 to 6 months. Using 100 as the baseline, readings above 100 suggest economic expansion while readings below 100 suggest the possibility of economic slowdown. Countries ranking at the top of the index are expected to experience economic growth, with consumption and investment likely to become more active. Conversely, lower-ranking countries face higher risks of economic slowdown and require prudent economic management. Since this index is calculated by combining multiple economic indicators including manufacturing new orders, unemployment rates, and stock prices, it serves as crucial reference material for comprehensively assessing the economic outlook of each country.
