Trade (% of GDP) Ranking

The trade dependency ratio is an indicator showing the percentage of a country's total imports and exports as a share of GDP. The higher this value, the more the country's economy depends on international trade. Countries with developed open economies in small areas with advanced manufacturing sectors, such as Singapore and Belgium, tend to occupy top positions. Conversely, countries with vast territories and large domestic demand, such as the United States and Brazil, tend to rank lower. As globalization progresses, top-ranked countries are more susceptible to exchange rate fluctuations and global economic conditions, while bottom-ranked countries exhibit relatively higher economic self-reliance.
